coffee VS Guayusa - impact, ecological balance, fairness

Ditch coffee – Drink GUYA Guayusa

If you've been following us for a while, you'll get the benefits of Guayusa already know. The question today: how does GUYA do in direct comparison with coffee?

In the morning it awakens the spirits, later in the day it helps through the midday slump and in the evening it is known to be avoided. We're talking about caffeine.

The caffeine kick

How caffeine really works in the body depends on the form in which it is consumed. Coffee is so far the most popular caffeine drink in Germany. Caffeine is a natural active ingredient that is found in over 60 other plant species. Also in high doses, among other things, in the Guayusa plant.

The effects of caffeine are heavily focused on the central nervous system. It has a predominantly positive effect on the ability to concentrate, increases storage capacity and memory. In addition, caffeine can trigger slight euphoria and stimulates the mind.

The composition of the caffeine is important. You can find a detailed article on the effects of Guayusa in our article: " How does Guayusa work "

Long-lasting energy thanks to a caffeine complex

In Guayusa are natural ingredients such as polyphenols and amino acids. The caffeine is bound to these. The advantage: the caffeine is only released in the intestinal tract, i.e. more slowly. This makes it more constant and long-lasting. Your energy boost lasts steadily for several hours.

The caffeine in coffee, on the other hand, is unbound. The natural polyphenols are destroyed by roasting. When absorbed in the stomach, caffeine reaches the bloodstream at a faster rate. Known consequences are palpitations, tremors, rapid loss of energy. The usual low mood hits.

Life cycle assessment of coffee and guayusa

Guayusa Amazons

Coffee and guayusa are both plants that grow in the distance.

Coffee originally comes from Ethiopia, today Europeans get their coffee from areas around the equator. Many coffee farmers feel compelled to grow coffee beans in monocultures. To do this, trees in the rainforest have to be cleared, which has drastic consequences for biodiversity. The balance of pests and beneficial insects is out of whack, and many animal species are losing their habitat.

Guayusa is from Ecuador. There it is planted in its natural environment, namely in so-called chakras. These are gardens in which a wide variety of other trees and useful plants grow. A high level of biodiversity is created. The use of chemicals is not necessary. Instead, the cycle of nature does the work. There are many stories about the discovery of Guayusa by the indigenous people. Here you can read some of them:

" Myths and legends about the origin of Guayusa !"

Fairness of coffee and guayusa trade

While coffee prices have continued to rise in recent years, coffee farmers unfortunately see nothing of the increasing spending by coffee drinkers. On the contrary: the roasters and coffee brands have spent around 10% less on the purchase of green coffee in recent years.

An injustice that we at GUYA do not want to support. We pay our farming communities from Ecuador a fair price and, by supporting traditional cultivation methods, we contribute to the preservation and protection of the Amazon rainforest. We also take the time to personally visit the farming communities in Ecuador and are in direct contact with them.

Let GUYA become your new coffee and experience a new energy experience - with a clear conscience towards people and nature.

Here you will find our GUYA to prepare yourself in three different flavors here . And convince yourself of ours Guayusa Energy Limos .
