PLASTIC POSTAGE BAGS FOR ORGANIC TEA?

Now your guayusa comes in a plastic bag and you shake your head?

Anyone who has been one of our customers for a long time will have noticed over the years that we have often changed the shipping packaging. From padded envelopes to kraft paper envelopes to normal boxes and now to plastic bags. But why? We would like to solve this riddle for you, because of course we have carefully considered this step.

100% RECYCLED

Our mailers are already 100% recycled and are recycled over and over again through our yellow bin recycling system as we don't use composite material, just plain recyclable plastic.

NO DEFORESTATION OF FORESTS

As a team, we found it increasingly odd to use cardboard boxes when we are campaigning against deforestation. Now you could say: "Yes, but there is cardboard from sustainable sources or recycled paper!". That is correct. Unfortunately, the seals used for paper from sustainable sources are anything but trustworthy. Anyone who has seen the documentation about the FSC seal (highly recommended) knows that an FSC-MIX carton does not even have to contain anything really sustainable, but only keeps the possibility open.
We wanted to distance ourselves completely from this. Because whether it's native forests or the Amazon. A tree sometimes needs a lifetime, with very fast-growing trees about 10-20 years. In addition, tree monocultures are seen as a sustainable source in industry. But this is not the case! A monoculture of spruce is just as bad for the soil and wildlife as a monoculture of corn (organic or not).

SAVINGS IN WEIGHT AND TRANSPORT

In contrast to conventional shipping boxes, our packaging takes up around 80% less space. The weight is also much lower and thus saves not only transport costs but also CO2 emissions.

REUSE AND RECYCLE

How can you now contribute so that our mailers can be used again?

YELLOW BIN

Luckily in Germany we have a functioning recycling system. The yellow recycling bin is the right place for our bag. Please remove the shipping label first and then put it in the bin.

USE AS GARBAGE BAG

If you want to be really eco, we do it in the office, you simply use our bag for the plastic waste that accumulates in the household anyway. Together you can then carry the whole bag and its contents into the yellow bin.
